Waseem Aref is an experienced finance, administration, grants and contracts senior manager. For more than 19 years. Mr. Aref has advised, led and managed various cycles of financial management, grants making and implementation,business development, procurement, internal controls assessments and organizational structuring activities, and he acquires a strong and developed network of business and private sector partners in Palestine in profit and non-for-profit organizations.
Currently engaged in The International Youth Foundation, Mr. Aref manages the administrative, grants, contracts and financial affairs for the International Youth Foundation, a US-based international NGO. Mr. Aref is part of the Management Team.His previous experience includes projects design and management, grants making & implementation, business development, grants management, compliance, procurement, financial operations. And he was also involved in conducting different types of organizations assessments which helped strengthening that strengthened his knowledge of funders’ regulations and requirements. Mr. Aref has gained experience in various cycles of financial management, internal control assessments and organizational structuring, business development, and strategic planning process aiming at the creation and development of internal control procedures and fostering healthy working environments. Mr. Aref, has also been engaged in establishing and supervising the financial systems for 5 main research and community centers at the Birzeit University and another international NGO branch in Ramallah.
